APTIS is a new-generation, innovative English proficiency assessment system developed by a team of assessment experts at the British Council. It is designed to meet the diverse needs of educational institutions, corporations, and individuals.

The English proficiency levels assessed by APTIS are aligned with the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages (CEFR), ranging from A1 to C. The test provides a comprehensive evaluation of the four core language skills: listening, speaking, reading, and writing.

Unlike traditional standardized exams, APTIS offers fast and precise assessment of a candidate’s language ability. Its results are internationally recognized and carry strong credibility worldwide.

Miles Academy, the official test center for the Aptis (hereinafter referred to as “the Test Center”), places the highest priority on the protection of your personal data.

All personal information you submit is properly collected, stored, processed, used, and disposed of in accordance with the Taiwan Personal Data Protection Act and relevant regulations.

To safeguard your personal information, the Test Center has implemented the following measures:

Personal Data Management Policy
A formal Personal Data Management Policy is established to regulate business operations involving personal data, reduce the risk of data breaches, and create a trustworthy privacy protection environment.
Personal Data Protection Management Team
A dedicated management team has been formed to coordinate and oversee all personal data protection initiatives.
Regular Training and Awareness Programs
Ongoing education and training programs are conducted to strengthen staff awareness and implementation of personal data protection policies.
Data Classification and Access Control
Personal data files are managed through a classification and grading system, with strict security controls applied to personnel who have access to such data.
Confidentiality Agreements with Third Parties
All outsourced vendors and partner organizations are required to sign confidentiality agreements to ensure full awareness of data protection responsibilities and legal liabilities. Any breach of confidentiality will be pursued in accordance with civil and criminal law.
Regular Policy Review and Updates
Personal data protection policies are reviewed and revised periodically, or as required by changes in regulations or circumstances, to remain compliant with legal standards.
Incident Reporting and Emergency Response Procedures
A formal incident reporting process is in place to enable prompt emergency response in the event of data breaches, malicious attacks, damage, or operational errors.
Information Security Infrastructure
The Test Center’s registration system and network are protected by firewall controls. All computers are equipped with antivirus software and supported by system backup and recovery plans to ensure data security and integrity.

If a candidate is unable to attend the test for reasons not classified as “Exceptional Circumstances,” the test eligibility will be cancelled, and no refund will be granted.

However, if a candidate is unable to attend the test due to illness or other significant circumstances, they may apply for a test date change or a refund. The candidate must notify the test center within five (5) days after the test date and provide a written explanation of the situation.

The test center will review the application and provide a response within seven (7) working days after receiving the required documentation.

Definition of Exceptional Circumstances

Exceptional circumstances are limited to the following situations:

Hospitalization or serious injury (Note 2), excluding minor illnesses such as mild colds, upper respiratory infections, menstrual discomfort, or coughing
Death of an immediate family member (official proof such as an obituary is required)
Major incidents, such as being a victim of a crime or a traffic accident
Military service

Application Procedure

The test center will notify you of the review result and subsequent procedures within seven (7) working days after receiving your application.

If the test center approves the exceptional circumstances application, a 50% administrative fee will apply regardless of whether a rescheduling or refund is granted.

If the application is not approved, the standard rescheduling and refund policy will apply.

Notes:

Any additional bank transfer fees will be charged by the candidate’s bank.

Medical documentation must be issued by a licensed medical institution.
