The APTIS English assessment consists of two main components:
All candidates must first complete the Grammar and Vocabulary test before proceeding to their selected language skill modules. The test questions are arranged in increasing levels of difficulty. It begins with general integrated questions and gradually progresses to more challenging tasks. Each section is designed to assess proficiency levels ranging from A1 to C.
The Aptis English Test adopts an innovative scoring system based on the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages (CEFR).
The Listening and Reading tests are automatically scored by the online platform, while the Writing and Speaking tests are assessed by professional examiners.
Candidates’ results consist of two parts. One part is the Grammar and Vocabulary score (0–50 points), and the other part is the combined Language Skills score. The Language Skills score includes a numerical score (0–50 points) as well as a CEFR level (A1–C).
The Aptis English Test provides each candidate with a comprehensive report detailing their performance in each skill area, along with an overall evaluation of their English proficiency.
Scores from the Aptis are measured in accordance with the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages (CEFR).
The CEFR scale ranges from A1 to C, and each English language skill is assessed and graded independently, providing a clear and detailed picture of a candidate’s proficiency across different skill areas.
